研究実績の概要

In AY2020, I mainly conducted an extended literature review, development of measurement for a qualitative phase of the study, and data collection. Due to the COVID-19 situation, my progress with the project was slower than I initially planned, particularly the data collection to be done in Australia and Sweden. Nevertheless, I collected enough data for the first study, then, started conducting the data analysis. Also, I started writing a draft of my/our first publication manuscript, which we are aiming to submit to Cornell Hospitality Quarterly in AY2021. Lastly, I had a series of productive discussions with the collaborators in Australia and Sweden.

3: やや遅れている

理由

While I was able to collect some data from Japan, the data collection from Sweden and Australia was disrupted by the pandemic. The teaching in those countries shifted to full online (same as Japan) and it became extremely difficult to reach out to the potential participants to conduct interviews.

今後の研究の推進方策

In AY2021, it is expected that I cannot travel to both Australia and Sweden. Thus, I will discuss with my collaborators and consider how we can revise the data collection method and analysis. Clever use of online data collection methods will be required. Also, with the data collected from Japan, I plan to write a draft of a qualitative paper.

次年度使用額が生じた理由

Due to the COVID-19 situation, domestic and international travels were disrupted. The unused funds from AY2020 will be reallocated after revising the AY2021 plans.
