研究実績の概要 |
The carbon nanodots were developed as artificial nanozyme, which provided a multimodal platform for engineering of theranostic-programmed nanomachine. Its flexible design enabled the construction of a logic control system for operation based on Boolean algebra. The logic gates depended on the fluorescent response of the nanozymes toward the chemical or biological inputs (e.g., quenchers as metal ions or pH change in the tumor microenvironment). The efficiency of the sensing system and the cytotoxic photo-oxidase activity of the nanozyme were demonstrated also through the inhibition of breast cancer cells (B16-F10 melanoma).The designed nanomachine function provides its potential application in both photothermal and photodynamic therapy of malignant cancer.

理由
From April, 2021 I started a new job at National Institute of Technology, Gunma College. During the fiscal year 2021 I was in process of building a new bio-nanotechnology laboratory. At that time I received donations of chemicals and apparatus. Due to this reason part of the budget was transferred in the next fiscal year 2022 in order to minimize the unnecessary expenses.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
1. Enhancing of the nanomachine functional and cytotoxic performance in the near infrared range, especially in the range 650-900 nm. Currently the nanomachine operates most well in the visual range of the light, but the chromophores of the biomolecules in the cells and tissues have strong absorption too. 2. Improving the nanomachine logic control system in respect to the biological inputs, according to the characteristic of the tumor microenvironment. 3. Proposing of strategy for protection of the DNA fibers in order to protect from destruction by the deoxyribonucleases (DNases) enzymes and thus keep the nanomachine functionality in natural biological systems.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |

At that time I received donations of chemicals and apparatus. Due to this reason part of the budget was transferred in the next fiscal year 2022 in order to minimize the unnecessary expenses. The planned expenses correspond to the state of the achieved current research and the need of upcoming investigations.
