Programmable nanodevices, designed for external activation, were developed as agents for cancer theranostics. The engineered nanozyme and nanosnowflakes serve as versatile platforms for nanomachine construction, demonstrating efficacy in inhibiting breast cancer cells and regulating their metastatic migration through NIR irradiation. The nanozyme exhibits promise for applications in photothermal and photodynamic therapy. Furthermore, these theranostic nanomachines have shown the ability to deliver cargo such as drugs and mRNA, rendering them suitable for chimeric antigen receptor T cell-based immunotherapy. Additionally, the nanodevices effectively obstruct suppressor cells within the tumor microenvironment, thereby creating a potential therapeutic opportunity for effective treatment.
