In the fiscal year 2022, still partly in the pandemic, we worked through a number of critical questions regarding the use of hybrid nanoparticles based on experimental data and tested the conditions of neutron irradiation experiments on a group of animals, resulting in a publication. Despite the effectiveness of nanoparticles in cell experiments, their practical use in animals was difficult. Since the polymer on the nanoparticles creates a surface layer that makes it difficult to bind to the tumor-targeting ApoB-29 molecules, on the other hand, the stability of the particles requires complete coverage of their surface, and using the particles without polymer stabilization leads to their aggregation. Based on the obtained results, it was decided to modify the nanoparticles and encapsulate the active components in a liposomal shell by bonding the targeting molecule to the gold component placed within the lipid bilayer. Neutron irradiation was performed with a previously approved compound to work out the irradiation technique close to clinical conditions. As a result, the principles of animal preparation and therapy were studied, including the methodology for calculating the radiation doses.
