In this project, we aimed to elucidate the role of special phospholipids (plasmalogens) and GPCR61 signaling in reducing liver fat in mice, including ZDF diabetic rats. Notably, GPCR61 knockout mice were successfully generated, and their phenotype analysis revealed various abnormalities such as fatty liver, brain and intestinal inflammation, and difficulties in pregnancy. To gain insights into the genetic basis of these abnormal phenotypes, a comprehensive transcriptome analysis using RNASeq was performed on brain tissue samples from wild type and GPCR61 knockout (KO) male mice. The results of this analysis uncovered several signaling pathways that were significantly affected in the GPCR61 KO mice, providing potential mechanistic explanations for the role of GPCR61 signaling in the brain. Although the majority of these studies have been completed, the manuscript has not been published yet.
