| 研究実績の概要 |
In the last twelve months, two major publications have been published and two confrences have been attended to present the findings of my research. The two studies examined predictability in the names of fictional characters. Fictional characters were used because I was unable to safely run my more traditional experiments during the Corona pandemic. The two studies were published in very high ranking journals: Plos One and Frontiers in Psychology. Both studies show that there are clear effects of sound symbolism in fictional character names. At the conferences I presented my research, I was able to discuss my research with experts and gain valuable advice.

理由
The last twelve months have been progressing rather smoothly. I have published articles, attended international conferences and am currently programming a new experimental program wich will examine Japanese perceptual epenthesis.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
Right now I am writing two journal articles that examine the role of predictability and sound symbolism in Japanese and American English. I am also programming a new computer program for a new experiment.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
This year, I hope to conduct in-person experiments. Some funds will go towards paying participants. I have also been accepted for a presentation in Tokyo this year. Aside from that, I expect the remainer to be spent on publication fees. The reason why there is carryover of 512,088yen is because I have still not been able to run full psycholinguistic experiments with face to face participants which was the original purpose for that money, however, I am in the process of correcting this now.
