研究実績の概要 |
To date, I have spent most of my available time researching and tracking down relevant literature (key words: Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ), East China Sea, China, Japan, South Korea etc.) such as journal articles (over 50) from the JSTOR journal archive, Research Map, and so forth. I have also completed a lot of reading from available online sources such as the Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative (AMTI) via the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the Brookings Institute, the US government's Congressional Research Service (CRS) and Library of Congress, the Rand Corporation as well as official statements from the Chinese, Japanese, and South Korean governments. The research collection includes research institutes and think tanks inside China, Japan, and South Korea as well as details of experts and scholars whom I intend to meet, interview, and collaborate with during research trips to China, South Korea, and Tokyo (when it is safe to travel again after the COVID-19 pandemic has passed). I have also commenced writing as well as planning the research draft and have used the services of an editor and proofreader to assist in my writing. This extensive reading and its related writing plan is also very useful in terms of laying the groundwork for the aforementioned research trips later in 2021 or 2022 (depending on the COVID-19 situation).

今後の研究の推進方策 |
The next phase of my research plan involves adding new reading materials to written work that I have completed up to now, and polishing up current writings as well as the structure of my current research draft. Due to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic situation appears to be getting better in countries where vaccinations have commenced, I am optimistic that my research trips can be realised in late 2021 or sometime in 2022 (depending on the COVID-19 situation). My research plans are still largely consistent with the information that I wrote in my original kakenhi research application.
