研究実績の概要 |
Since April 2021, I have mainly focused on locating journal articles, think tank articles, media sources, and all academic articles that relate directly to my research theme and its related keywords i.e. China's ADIZ declaration in November 2013 (with a focus on the areas over the East China Sea), and then inputting the data (qualitatively and quantitively) in a journal article or larger sized document. Examples include journal articles such as "China's Air Defence Identification Zone: Building Security through Lawfare" in `China Review`, "The East China Sea Disputes: History, Status, and Ways Forward" in `Asian Perspective`, and "China's Policy in the East China Sea: The Role of Crisis Management Mechanism Negotiations with Japan (2008-2015)" in `China Perspectives`(plus numerous other sources). Other helpful articles have also included the Center for Strategic and International Studies' "Counter-Coercion Series: East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone" in relation to the "Asian Maritime Transparency Initiative (AMTI)." Other pertinent information has been found via the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) , Naval War College Review (USA), The Journal of Territorial and Maritime Studies, and the SAIS Review of International Affairs. To date, I have written a document of about 10,000 words. I hope to also add interview source information and any available updated information (journal, media, think tank etc.) in the coming months. Regarding the latter objective, I have prepared a list of potential interviewees and hope to conduct a field trip this year.

理由
As mentioned, to date, I have completed about 10,000 words in terms of a research document. I have also prepared a list of expert interviewees who specialise in fields related to the ADIZ declaration issue. This will be of assistance to me when the opportunity to conduct a field trip to China and Tokyo become available. I am also currently searching for newly available updated information (journal, media, think tank etc.). The COVID-19 situation has delayed my plans in terms of visiting China and Tokyo to complete interviews with experts and specialists as well as hampered attendance at any related workshops and conferences in Japan or overseas. However I have made good progress in terms of research content and data source acquisition.
