異文化理解のための宗教教育:自己認識と他者への寛容性を高める授業モデルの開発

研究実績の概要

The research has focused on developing an effective class model and teaching material for experiential learning and raising religious awareness among pre-service teachers. At the core are activities that help students realize their assumptions about values and beliefs, as well as how these can influence teaching. Besides the activities on religious awareness, the researcher examined the effectiveness of the CEDAR discussion activities about our negotiable and non-negotiable values. The activities on negotiable and non-negotiable values were then conducted in joint classes (June 2022) to explore the learning outcomes when combining two different student groups (multinational/ multilingual). In addition, we tested how the discussion on values can contribute to peace education in teacher training (August 2022). The researcher participated in a 2-week CEDAR school Central Asian Program on Pedagogies of Solidarity (CAPPS) in Kyrgyzstan (August 2022) to learn practical approaches to intercultural communication and peace-building through participant learning in a group of international CEDAR fellows and experts. The skills and knowledge were further shared through lecture and advice in a UNESCO Youth workshop on practical approach to peace through dialogues (March 2023). Based on above activities, a workbook was created containing dialogues on religious values for educators in diversity and intercultural communication. The workbook proved helpful for discussions on diversity at the Hiroshima G7 Summit Junior Conference at Hiroshima University (March 2023).
