研究実績の概要 |
In the first year of this research, I focus on building up the web-based FBA, by attending related workshops/conferences and in close cooperation with web designers and engineers. In the meantime, a short survey to collect elementary school teachers' experiences in behavioral management in general and about working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities was created and disseminated to collect data. I am also developing the measures to assess teachers’ knowledge and skills in FBA, and students’ behavioral outcomes, will also be developed and finalized in the first year. Students’ behavioral outcomes will include teachers’ report and independent observers (observers will not know the treatment condition of the teachers). We will soon start the observation process in some classrooms to serve as pre-test procedure.

理由
Recruiting focus group participants and collecting observation data were quite interrupted due to COVID. Many conferences and workshop related to web development were suspended. The website development progress did not catch up as expected because there were more details and aspects of the website to consider, which made it complicated to design. It does require more communication with the web designer.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the fiscal year of 2021 I hope to catch up on completing the website development and pretest. I will also continue recruiting possible research participants (teachers and schools).

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
I will need the research funding to support the FBA website establishment and collect data to examine the effectiveness of the web-intervention. I also need to purchase the special statistical software Mplus to analyze the data. All are to continue the research project.
