In a recent publication in collaboration with Kiril Hristov, I performed a consistent reduction of six-dimensional matter-coupled F(4) supergravity on a compact Riemann surface, Sigma, at the level of the bosonic fields. I then used the result to construct the first examples of static dyonic AdS(4) black holes dual to the three-dimensional conformal field theories (CFTs) of class F on S^1 x Sigma and perform a microscopic counting of their entropy via the topologically twisted index. Finally, I showed the existence of further subtruncations to the massless sector of the four-dimensional theory and found new asymptotically AdS(4) solutions, providing predictions for the squashed three-sphere partition functions and the superconformal and refined twisted indices of class F theories.
Moreover, in another publication in collaboration with Kiril Hristov, Yuji Tachikawa and Alberto Zaffaroni, I derived the general anomaly polynomial for a class of two-dimensional CFTs arising as compactifications (with a partial topological twist) of a higher-dimensional theory on compact manifolds M, including the contribution of the isometries of M. The result is then used to provide a microscopic explanation of the entropy of electrically charged and rotating BPS black strings in AdS(5) x S^5 and AdS(7) x S^4 by using a charged version of the Cardy formula. The latter class of solutions was constructed in the same paper by uplifting a class of four-dimensional rotating black holes.

Building on my works published in FY2020, I plan to address the microscopic origin of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy for the class F black holes by computing the partition function of five-dimensional N=1 gauge theories on (S^2 x S^1) x S^2 where supersymmtery is preserved in a novel way: we have a twisted two-sphere and an untwisted two-sphere.
Furthermore, some AdS(3) x M type IIB vacua have been recently proposed to arise from D3-branes wrapped on a spindle, a sphere with conical singularities at the poles. I have been working on this new class of vacua to generalize them to a class of electrically charged and rotating supersymmetric black strings in AdS(5) x S^5 with general magnetic fluxes on the spindle. The statistical origin of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the spindle black strings can then be explained via the charged Cardy formula.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 I could not travel during the FY2020. However, I recently got the permission from the University of Tokyo Task Force to do business trips. This is an essential step in my career development plan and an important boost to achieve my research goals, and open up new collaboration and networking possibilities. So I think the rest of the grant will be used for the "Travel Expenses".
