The objective of this research was to establish and implement an experimentally-validated ductile damage model (initiation + evolution) within a finite element framework, for the prediction of ductile failure in multi-phase alloy. The model, implemented in the first year, was partially calibrated to obtain the damage initiation fracture locus. In this year, the specific progresses were achieved: (1) The evolution of void growth and coalescence was experimentally tracked by SEM and X-CT measurements. (2) The damage evolution model (post-initiation) was calibrated based on void growth measurement. (3) Finally, the developed model was validated against additional materials not used in the fitting procedure.
