研究実績の概要 |
The ultimate goal of the current research is to model heterogeneous air traffic flow with cellular automata and reveal the mechanism in which congestions are formed. As a first step towards the goal, in JFY2020 we used real traffic data to determine appropriate cell size and define a route analogous to a road in ground traffic. In JFY2021, we mapped vectored flights on each basic route and identified undisturbed flights which proceed at a constant speed (1 cell per unit time). Analysis shows that deceleration can be linked to the number of empty cells available ahead, i.e. the separation with the preceding vehicle. Merging traffic might play a significant role, however, and this needs to be considered prior to parameter tuning.

理由
The original plan relied on technical conferences and stakeholders' interviews to collect detailed information on supersonic aircraft arrival operations, and these have not been possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Cellular automata parameters were supposed to be optimized in JFY2021, but initial research revealed that merging air traffic plays a key role which needs to be investigated prior to any parameter tuning. This will be dealt with in JFY2022.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In JFY2022 we will: 1) investigate SST performance characteristics and identify key distinguishing parameters which need to be reflected in the heterogeneous traffic flow model; 2) Develop a traffic scenario including both orthodox and SST flights and 3) Investigate merging traffic and optimize the updating rules in the cellular automata.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
International travel was not possible, so conference attendance was virtual only, which decreased the costs. Also, there is a slight delay in the research progress, so at this point no workstation was necessary yet.
