In the last year, research achievements on three main aspects have been accomplished on the HDFC. The first one is the fabrication of additional HDFC with different internal morphologies. Fiber length with 10, 20, and 30 mm, prepreg sheet thickness with 50 and 100 μm were fabricated for the comprehensive evaliation. The second one is the mechanical property study of HDFC with different internal geometry. The prepared speimcens in the first aspect were applied in different mechanical tests and X-ray CT evaluations to study the relationship between profermance and internal geometry. The last one is the in-situ X-ray CT tensile test of HDFC. To understand the mechanism of failure initiation of HDFC with different internal geometry, the in-situ X-ray CT tensile test was carried out to observe and trace the initial micro cracks and their propengations. As a summarization, this research have conducted the comprehensive study on the HDFC with different molding conditions, fiber morphologies, mechanical profermances, and their relationships. The knowledge earned from this study provided solutions for the comprehensive characterization of HDFC on both the aspect of material research and the view of industrial application.
