This year, using the coupling strength tunable Au-NPs/TiO2/Au-film nanostructures, we measured the photo-induced electron transfer from Au-NPs to TiO2 to clarify the strong coupling effect on the photo-induced electron transfer. We found that under the strong coupling conditions, a higher photo-induced electron transfer was observed. Notably, the distance between the Au-NPs and Au-film also affects the transient measurement. Besides measuring the photo-induced electron transfer, the electron-electron coupling and electron-phonon coupling of Au-NPs were characterized using white light as a probe in the transient measurement. We found that the electron-electron coupling and/or electron-phonon coupling of Au-NPs were modulated under the strong coupling conditions, which provides us with a method to control the electron decay in metal nanoparticles.
