研究実績の概要 |
We generated cell lines bearing mutations of ING1, ING5 and ING4 for functional tracking experiments. We have also developed gene markers that allows us to assess and evaluate cellular stress progression. Different types of cellular stress caused differences in re-localization behaviors of ING protein family. We identified ING proteins not only function in nucleolus, but some members seem to be components of stress granules in nucleus and even cytosol. The disparity linked to differences in function of the protein members towards specific stress types.

理由
During unexpected spreading of Covid-19 virus, many laboratory operations have been reduced or remained at minimum state, which caused some negative effects to the progression of the project.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
We are going to increase the speed of experiment to meet the overall progression of the project. Because the stress granules (in both nucleus and cytosol) are involved in RNA protection mechanisms, we are also expanding to examine the interaction of ING protein to RNA molecules other than nucleolar RNAs.
