| 研究実績の概要 |
In the second year of this project, based on the original research plan, the databases for the heating and cooling technologies in Japan regarding deployment rate, costs, emission, fuel consumption, and efficiencies have been completed as the primary input to the model. The thermal modeling of the sample buildings in various climatic conditions was also completed. We published a part of the modeling results as a journal paper in the International Journal of Smart Grid and Clean Energy.

理由
The research progressed smoothly in the second year based on the original research proposal. While we completed the heating and cooling technologies database in terms of costs, efficiencies, emission, and fuel consumption in the past years, we conducted the thermal modeling of buildings in various climatic conditions in Japan. We started evaluating the intangible cost of each technology as one of the primary and complex parameters in our model.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
Currently, we are in the stage of quantifying the intangible costs of heating and cooling technologies based on the research proposal. In the following steps, by integrating the developed database and thermal model of the building, we will estimate the effect of implementing each market-based and regulatory policy on deploying low-carbon heating and cooling technologies in residential buildings in Japan. While the restrictions and circumstances related to COVID-19 are fading in the coming months, we hope to expand and deepen our academic collaboration with the collaborators we mentioned in the research proposal.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and circumstances, we did not use the travel expenses for the conferences and academic collaborations mentioned in the research proposal. Therefore, this budget is transferred to the next fiscal year.
