研究実績の概要 |
We continued the project during the last fiscal year based on the proposal. We further worked on the databases for Japan's heating and cooling technologies regarding deployment rate, costs, emission, fuel consumption, and efficiencies as the primary input to the model. At the same time, the thermal modeling of the residential houses reached a more accurate level. Achieving the intangible costs of various heating and cooling technologies is one of the main tasks in this project. Currently, the model works very well in the heating-dominant area of Japan. Further work is necessary to increase its compatibility with the cooling-dominant regions.

理由
At the beginning of our work last year, while our thermal model was interacting with the database, we found a need for new parameters, which were searched and added to the database. The thermal modeling of the sample buildings in various climatic conditions was revised and further developed accordingly. Quantifying the intangible costs of heating and cooling technologies is the core part of the research that achieves by integrating the developed database and thermal model of the building. The previous version of the models did not accurately find the intangible costs. In contrast, the new version works much better, especially for the heating mode in the cold climate of Japan (e.g., Hokkaido). Further attempts are necessary to improve the model for cooling technologies in the hot environment of Japan (e.g., Fukuoka).

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the coming months, we plan to increase the model's precision for Japan's cooling-dominant regions and achieve more accurate intangible residential heating and cooling (RHC) equipment costs. We will start applying the market-based and regulatory policies as inputs to the model and analyze their impacts on the future of the RHC market in Japan. The policy analyses will be conducted in various scenarios, and sensitivity analysis will address uncertainties.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
We plan to carry over the remaining budget to the next fiscal year while we still need to work on the modeling part of our research and increase the accuracy. We did not use the travel expenses due to the restrictions in the previous fiscal years. Also, we will cover publication expenses with the manuscripts based on the revised model's results will get ready.
