研究実績の概要

This project aimed to understand practical flame-acoustics interactions through optimised experiments and high fidelity numerical simulations. Substantial progress was achieved during the course of project. Experiments in small scale half-open tubes were performed as a benchmark to understand flame acoustic interactions in this acoustic condition. Such experiments were not available in the literature. Effect of ignition energy was also found. DNS of this experiment is under progress.
2D-DNS was performed for a range of thermodynamic conditions expected in modern IC engines. New modes of autoignition were found. This is very useful to understand the super-knock phenomenon in the IC engines. Results were presented in national/international conferences and several journals are under progress.
