本研究では、システムの性能、安全性、信頼性などの観点から無線アドホックネットワーク、センサネットワーク、有線ネットワークなどからなる異種ネットワークにおける管理・評価・情報サービスイノベーションについて積極的に取組んだ。特に異種ネットワークの環境における異なる移動性に対応している省電力の経路選択とメディアアクセス制御の原理を研究し、その管理と評価の手法を提案した。また，異種ネットワークの信頼性と安全性の観点から異種ネットワークのアーキテクチャの構造と安全の情報認証の管理と評価原理を解明し、その管理及び評価する原理と手法を提案した。提案した管理と評価の原理と手法の応用についても積極的に研究した。
