研究概要

本研究はニワトリ卵管の自然免疫系による感染防御機能を明らかにすることを目的とした。卵管粘膜では、ムチン層やタイト結合による粘膜バリア、サイトカインによる免疫応答の発動、トリβディフェンシン(AvBD)の産生により第一線の感染防御システムが構築されていることが示された。休産鶏では粘膜バリア機能が低下したので、これが感染リスクを高める要因の 1 つとして考えられた。Toll 様受容体を刺激すると炎症性サイトカインが産生されるが、IL1βはAvBD 産生を誘導するという新規な知見が得られた。
