研究概要

ガレクチンは、β-galactoshideを認識するレクチンで、雌性生殖器にはgalectin-1とgalectin-3が発現する。本研究では、マウスの雌性生殖器においてガレクチンが特定の細胞に発現することを明らかにし、プロジェステロンやエストロジェンなどの雌性ホルモンの影響をうけて、雌性生殖器の恒常性維持や粘膜免疫に関与する可能性が示した。
