The research project was progressed as planned. In addition to direct aqueous carbonation, innovative indirect carbonation with circular concept was developed. The circular indirect carbonation of coal fly ash was investigated. The detailed mechanisms, including innovative electrochemical technology, bipolar membrane electrodialysis, were determined, and the comprehensive assessment based on several scenarios of energy supply was conducted. The results were successfully published as research paper in Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, which is reputable and in Q1 ranking (IF: 7.968). In addition, the CO2 emissions reduction potential by mineral carbonation of alkaline wastes and byproducts using Taiwan as a case was evaluated. The promising candidate materials and industries wastes were identified, and the significant factors affected the development strategy were pointed out. This study was published as review paper in Environmental Chemistry Letters, which is reputable, and not only in Q1 ranking but also top 5% journals (IF: 13.615). In addition, in this fiscal year, I attended two international conferences in the form of oral presentations. One is The 16th International Symposium on East Asian Resources Recycling Technology (EARTH 2022), hold in Tainan, Taiwan. Another one is International Conference on Green Energy and Applications (ICGEA 2023), hold in Singapore. In ICGEA 2023, I received the best presentation award.
