Gd2O3 doped CeO2 (GDC)is a fluorite sturcture which is a radiation-resistant oxides. This oxide can be a substitute of the nuclear fuel, such as (U,Gd)O2.GDC has nature oxygen vacancies (VOs) generated by reduction of CeO2-x or substitution of Gd3+ ion to Ce4+ ion site, resulting in a cooperative impact that aids in the restoration of radiation damage. The GDC is examined by varying Gd dopant concentration, and they were exposed to heavy ions at high ion fluences to determine the impact of VOs and its stuructue evaluation. To assess the extent of disordering caused by these factors, both virgin and irradiated samples were analyzed on long- and medium-range scales, and images of the affected areas were examined using TEM.In-situ cathodoluminescence spectroscopy under high-energy electron irradiation were also analyzed to determine the charge states of VOs in the beam condition.
