In Year 3, good progress was made with the four studies that comprise the project. For each of Study 1 (longitudinal), Study 2 (pre- and post-study abroad), Study 3 (the four skills) and Study 4 (cross-sectional) data analysis and an initial interpretation of the study findings was completed. In addition, a further set of cross-sectional data was collected and processed to enhance Study 4. Initial steps were also taken towards comparing and contrasting the results of the four separate studies so as to synthesize the findings and reach overall conclusions as to the development of second language productive knowledge of collocations. Further research is now planned to explore hypotheses formed as a result of this work.
