研究実績の概要 |
Data from a 3-wave longitudinal field study with 163 manager-subordinate pairs in China was collected and analyzed with structural equation modelling. Results show that four e-coaching behavior, namely verbal guidance, non-verbal guidance, verbal facilitation, and non-verbal facilitation, relate differently with three self-efficacy (i.e., task-specific, learning and emotional self-efficacy) and three work role performances (i.e., proficiency, adaptivity and proactivity). In general, verbal and non-verbal guidance relate positively with self-efficacy and work role performance, and vice versa for verbal and non-verbal facilitation. The result also shows that only task-specific and learning self-efficacy partially mediated the e-coaching-performance relationships.

理由
In the first year, I successfully connect academic scholars and practitioners for collecting survey data in Hong Kong/ China and Japan. In Hong Kong/China , I have collected data from 163 (China) and 8 (Hong Kong) manager-subordinate pairs. In Japan, only 3 pairs of managers and subordinates responded in this stage.
In my initial plan, the proposed number of participants was 350 pairs, so 50% of the target has been achieved. Yet, I have discovered some interesting findings from the current sample and have submitted a paper to an international conference. Nevertheless, in order to collect sufficient sample size for comparing the differences between China/Hong Kong and Japan. I have line up with more scholars and will conduct more rounds of data collection in Hong Kong and Japan.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the 2nd year (2022-2023), I will present the preliminary findings in ANZAM 2022 conference in December 2022. Furthermore, I will conduct 2 more rounds of data collection in Hong Kong/ China and Japan, and expect to complete all data collection before January 2023. Then I will analyze the data with MPlus and test the proposed hypotheses in this project. Follow-up interview may be conducted if necessary. The analysis stage will be expected to complete in early 2023.
In the 3rd year, journal and conference paper(s) will be prepared for submission in mid- to late-2023.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the influence of COVID-19, the travel expenses and participants' token for data collection were not used last year and may not be used in the coming years. Instead, they will be spent on employing research service companies for administering surveys in Hong Kong/China and Japan. For the same reason, the travel expenses for conference presentations were also not used last year but will be spent in this year.
About personnel expenses, since the data collection was conducted by three collaborators in China/ Hong Kong, no research assistants was needed last year, but will hire one next year.
