Synthesis of BaZrS3 1.Solid-state synthesis of BaZrS3: grinding BaS and ZrS2 together with and without thiourea (TU) and heating the mix powder at around 250oC-350oC, black powder resulted. However, XRD analysis showed no peaks matching with BaZrS3. 2.Solvothermal synthesis: BaCl2, ZrCl4 and thiourea in different solvent systems and at different temperatures. BaCl2 +Z2Cl4+ TU in hexane (autoclave): XRD shows no peaks matching with BZrS3. BaCl2 +Z2Cl4+ TU in Ethanol and water (in an autoclave): black color but amorphous powder was obtained. BaCl2+ZrCl4+TU in ethylene diamine (EDA) (autoclave): black powder but amorphous BaS + ZrS + EDA + ethylene dithiol (EDT) (autoclave, 180oC) :black powder but amorphous. BaCl2+ ZrCl4 +TU in DMSO (autoclave, 230oC/40h): black powder but amorphous
