研究実績の概要 |
In this work, we aim to investigate the physical response in chiral lattice antiferromagnet CoNb3S6 via two topics: (1st) manipulation of AFM states with electric current and (2nd) non-reciprocal transport phenomena. For the 1st target, we have successfully fabricated the micro-device and performed the measurement using DC current to switch antiferromagnetic states. At the current stage, the device exhibits the switching behavior when applying large pulsed DC current, which can be evaluated via the value of Hall resistivity acquired after passing current pulse. As for the 2nd target, we have observed various type of non-reciprocal transport phenomena in bulk and FIB samples of CoNb3S6 associated with AFM state, including assymetric magnetoresistance and electrical magneto-chiral effect.

理由
According to the initial plan, we have successfully fabricated the FIB device, which plays important role in realization of research targets. By using FIB device, we can increase the current density and reduce the effect of heating, which allows to observe various kinds of phenomena, including switching using DC current as well as electrical magnetochiral effect.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
As for the future plan, although we have observed the switching behavior of AFM states, the deterministic manipulation still has not been achieved yet. One of the possible reasons is because of heating, which may induce the random nucleation. To overcome this issue, we plan to improve the FIB technique to fabricate thinner sample and improve the contact between sample and substrate, which helps further increase current density and lower the heating effect. We also would like to collaborate with theorist to have qualitative explanation for the observation of non-reciprocal transport phenomena associated with AFM state.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the effect of COVID-19 pandemic, some of the product cannot be purchased, as well as some conference was cancelled. We would like to transfer this funding amount to next fiscal year to buy other equipment.
