研究実績の概要 |
Primary cilium protrudes from the cell surface like an antenna into the extracellular environment surrounding the cell and detect and transduce sensory stimuli to the cell body. Here we show that primary cilium also effects cell signaling and processes through primary cilium-dependent biofactors. The preliminary data results show that the cell migration and proliferation was enhanced in biofactors treated cells in a primary cilium dependent manner.

The project is going rather smoothly because we have already obtained preliminary data for the role of primary cilium-dependent bioactive factors.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
Task1. Confirmation of effects of primary cilium-dependent biofactors: (a) Preparation of knock-out cells deficient in primary cilium (b) Check the effects of primary cilium-dependent biofactors in different cell lines. Task2. Evaluation of secretion profile: Identification of biofactors and signaling pathways they are involved in. Task3. Invitro and invivo models for bioassays of primary cilium-dependent biofactors and potential for cell therapeutics.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the personal sick leave some aspects of the research project could not be done. The remaining amount will be used for making transgenic cell lines models and purchasing cell lines.
