研究実績の概要 |
We have confirmed the fundamental study of hydrogen production from the reaction of aluminum waste and acidic hot springs through lab scale and onsite production as an alternative route for non-fossil fuel hydrogen production. The findings led to the use of highly acidic hot springs and abandoned aluminum waste. We also have extended a life cycle analysis of the system to be implemented on the local scale in terms of carbon emissions and energy consumption (a case study of Semboku City for hydrogen fuel for the hydrogen tourism bus operation). Results suggested that the hydrogen fuel use scenario from aluminum waste materials-acidic hot spring reactions reduced environmental impacts compared to gasoline and primary aluminum use. The system also provides environmental benefits (i.e, direct geothermal utilization and waste management strategy). The research outputs have been included in article publications, academic conferences/scientific forums, and collaborative discussions with relevant researchers. We are currently exploring a comprehensive life cycle and techno-economic analysis considering the hydrogen supply chain to evaluate the system's performance environmentally and economically.

3: やや遅れている
理由
The timeline is slightly delayed as we consider new tools to advance our project to assess its life cycle and techno-economic analyses. It apparently requires more time to complete the project objectives.
|
今後の研究の推進方策 |
As we are now exploring new tools to evaluate the environmental and economic performance of the system, a comprehensive study of the life cycle and techno-economic analyses would be expected. Therefore, funding support is still relevant to the plan.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
We are working on the system's life cycle and techno-economic analyses comprehensively through the new tools we are exploring.
