We have made an impact in this field by proposing several phenomena in this rapidly advancing field. We not only studied phenomena analogous to those in atomic physics and quantum optics with natural atoms, but also analyzed those not occur ring in natural atoms. Our studies explored various new research directions in this emerging interdisciplinary field. Our results for this fiscal year include these: Classical Field Approach to Quantum Weak Measurements [Phys. Rev. Lett. 112, 110407 (2014)]; Magnetoelectric Effects in Local Light-Matter Interactions [Phys. Rev. Lett. 113, 033601 (2014)]; PT-Symmetric Phonon Laser [Phys. Rev. Lett. 113, 053604 (2014)]; Extraordinary momentum and spin in evanescent waves [Nature Comm. 5, 3300 (2014)]; Lamb-Dicke spectroscopy of atoms in a hollow-core photonic crystal fibre [Nature Communications 5, 4096 (2014)]; Imaging the dynamics of free-electron Landau states [Nature Communications 5, 4586 (2014)]; What is- and what is not- Electromagnetically-Induced-Transparency in Whispering-Gallery-Microcavities [Nature Communications 5, 5082 (2014)]; Loss-induced suppression and revival of lasing [Science 346, 328-332 (October 2014)]; Parity-time-symmetric whispering-gallery microcavities [Nature Physics 10, 394-398 (2014)]; and Quantum Simulations [Reviews of Modern Physics 86, 153 (2014). The last two papers are already listed by the Web of Science as “hot” papers & top 1% papers.
