研究概要

大気重力波の地球気候に及ぼす影響には、運動量の再配分による大循環の維持や駆動等の直接効果と、温度揺動により雲量を変調しオゾン等大気化学に影響する間接効果がある。本研究では、高解像大循環モデルや化学気候モデルデータを用いて、重力波の直接効果は平均風による移流や屈折により、発生源上空だけでなく広く及ぶこと、成層圏突然昇温の回復過程において重力波は本質的であること、夏半球成層圏循環は重力波強制が主要な駆動源であることを示した。衛星高解像データによりオゾン化学への重力波間接効果を定量化した。また今後の高解像データ解析に必須の3次元物質循環に関するロスビー波・重力波の統一理論の構築に成功した。
