研究概要

近年、中国南部をとりまく問題点は山積している。特記すべき内容として、人間活動による食肉目個体群の密猟による衰退が生じている。アジア東部の文化的独自性、特に食肉目動物の食料や伝統薬として利用は他地域にはみられない。本研究では、生態調査と並行して人間による野生動物の利用状況を調査した。その結果、広州の大規模野生動物市場へ国内外から密輸された動物が集積され、また自然保護区などの各野生動物の生態や分布などの生態的基礎情報が古いことが、密輸取り締まりの強化実行の大きな障害となっていた。今後、定期的にフィールドワークとデータ更新を行うとともに取り組みも必要である。
