研究概要

転写因子であるSOX17は、消化管腫瘍の発生に対して「発がん促進」に作用する可能性と、「発がん抑制」に作用する可能性が指摘されており、その役割は未だ不明である。本研究では、マウスモデルを用いた遺伝学的解析により、腸管腫瘍発生におけるSOX17の役割を解析した。その結果、SOX17遺伝子を欠損させたApc^Δ716 マウスでは腸粘膜が肥厚し、腸管腫瘍数の有意な増加を認めたことから、SOX17は大腸がん発生に関して抑制的に作用すると考えられた。
