研究概要

上皮間葉移行(EMT)新たな視点から胃癌の浸潤転移を抑制し進行胃癌の治療に役立てることを目的に研究した。手術で切除した胃を調べたところ HOXB9 という EMTを誘導する分子の発現がリンパ節転移や脈管浸潤と関連していることと、生命予後が悪いことを明らかにした。TMK-1 という胃癌細胞に HOXB9 の遺伝子を導入して EMT を誘導すると癌の悪性度が増す傾向がみられた。さらなる研究によりリンパ節転移抑制の観点から治療応用を切り開ける可能性が示唆された。
