幹細胞間の競争に基づく精子品質管理機構への挑戦

研究概要

本研究では、次世代に情報を伝える配偶子(特に精子)が作られる過程で、その品質が維持ざれる機構を明らかにすることを最終目的としている。22年度に我々は、マウス精子形成幹細胞が数学的にランダムな競争を行なっている事を、長期間(数ヶ月～年)にわたって幹細胞の運命を追跡することによって発見した(Cel Stem Cell 2010)が、23年度には、実際に競争を行なっている細胞群を遺伝子発現に基づいて組織学的に同定し、その運命(競争を生き残るか幹細胞でなくなるか)を1細胞レベル、日単位の分解能で詳細に検討した。その結果、一つ一つの細胞のレベルにおいても幹細胞間の競争が常に起こっている事が明らかになった。精子形成幹細胞間の競争の現場を明らかにした事により、そこで機能している配偶子の品質管理に直結する幹細胞間の競争の分子メカニズムの解明に重要な知見を与えた。
