研究概要

本研究は、旧植民地域で形成される多言語社会における言語変化のメカニズムを総合的に解明することを主たる目的とし、パラオの旧宗主国の言語である日本語と英語の盛衰に関する言語内的および外的要因、過程、程度をマクロ・ミクロの両視点から精緻に調査研究したものである。「社会的ネットワーク分析」の導入、「集中モデル」や「ダイナミックモデル」の検証などを含む本研究成果は、接触社会言語学分野の理論構築にも資するものであると考える。
