頸は頭か胴体か?~発生、進化から頸部の解剖学的理解を求めて~

研究概要

脊椎動物の体は頭部と体幹からなるが、その移行部にある頸部の実体を捉えるため、舌筋の発生をさまざまな動物群で比較、観察した。全ての脊椎動物で舌筋群は体節に発して咽頭弓背側にある頭部神経堤細胞の中で筋分化することが推察され、舌筋群は頭部と体幹部の素材を組み合わせてできていることが分かった。しかしながらサメはその中でも筋分化に関して特殊化が見られ、決して原始的発生プログラムを保持した動物ではないことが示唆された。
