Researcher Pu’s current research is focused on exploring Japanese college students’ trust in science in the post-epidemic era. To investigate this topic, we’re conducting a mixed-methods study that combines both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. For the quantitative component, they have already finished designing and administering the trust in science questionnaire to a sample of Japanese college students. The questionnaire aims to measure various dimensions of trust in science and collect demographic information to examine potential differences in trust across groups. For the qualitative component, Researcher Pu is conducting in-depth interviews with a subset of participants to gain a deeper understanding of their attitudes and beliefs towards science, as well as the factors that shape their trust in science.During the current year of research, Researcher Pu has already publicly published four academic papers. In the future, they plan to increase the sample size by recruiting participants from additional universities and academic disciplines, conduct a longitudinal study, explore the role of cultural factors in shaping trust in science, and collaborate with other researchers.Overall, Researcher Pu believes that these strategies can help them generate more robust and comprehensive findings on Japanese college students’ trust in science in the post-epidemic era and contribute to the growing body of literature on trust in science and promote a more informed and engaged public.
