研究実績の概要 |
Research of achievements have been very limited during 2022-2023 because of the movement of the main researcher Dr. Cheer, and the lingering effects of COVID constraints. In 2023 Fiscal Year we expect to be making up for the lost time during 2022 Fiscal Year.
We did however hold one symposium at Wakayama University in 2022 Fiscal Year on 15 November - this was to set the research direction for the wider project. We have also launched a journal special issue in the journal Rural Society that addresses many of the key issues in this project. This special issue will form an important outcome from this project.
The project also led to the publication of two issues of The Wakayama Tourism Review - the in-house tourism research journal. Additionally, we hosted leading scholars from Hokkaido University and Hiroshima University to talk about collaborations related to the project.

理由
The Chief Investigator, Prof. Joseph Cheer has taken up a professorship at Western Sydney University, Australia. However, he remains associated with Center for Tourism Research, Wakayama University as a Visiting Professor.
Delays were also because of ongoing COVID constraints to travel in 2022 fiscal year.
Other colleagues on the project continue to be at Wakayama University and fieldwork is expected to take place in July-August 2023.
|
今後の研究の推進方策 |
Fieldwork is due to take place in July-August 2023 in Wakayama Prefecture. Prof. Cheer will be visiting Wakayama University to work with colleagues based there. Additional research and fieldwork will take place early in 2024 - the final year of the project.
|
次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Fieldwork delays experienced in 2022 fiscal year means we have to transfer all funds to 2023 fiscal year, and possibly 2024 fiscal year, depending on progress made in 2023.
