| 研究実績の概要 |
I keep working on two of the manuscripts of this project and finalized one of papers. The manuscripts that I am working on relate different land policies, like community forestry with household socioeconomic conditions. The finalized project was recently accepted for publication in an internationally recognized peer reviewed journal. In that paper,I combine deforestation images with geolocated child health data. Using these data, I implemented econometric methods to understand if there is an association between exposure to forest loss during critical periods and current health status. I find that children born to women living in areas that experience deforestation a year before their conception are more likely to be shorter and thinner for their age.

理由
Due to personal reasons, I was not able to disseminate the findings of one of the papers of this project in an International Congress. My paper was accepted for presentation in July, but I could not attend to the event. Then, my wife’s pregnancy and the preparation of the birth of my first child also made me postpone some travels abroad and changed my plans on potential dates of traveling. On the other hand, one of the papers linked to this projects got published during this academic year and that was faster than I expected.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the first months of the academic year,I am planning on further analysing the data and finalize writing one of the manuscripts that are part of this project. I'm also going to apply for international conference presentations. Later in the year, I plan on finalizing the third manuscript and present the results of my studies in international conferences. I also intend to submit the manuscripts in internationally recognized peer review journals.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
I plan to use the remaining of the budget presenting the results of the project in conferences in Japan and abroad. Receiving feedback from other scholars is crucial to improve the current manuscripts and to increase visibility. I am expecting to apply to international conferences in economics and development economics and I will use the budget to cover the flight tickets, hotels, and conference fees. Further, a minor part of the budget will be used to pay for academic association fees and subscription to research tools like statistical software and geographical information systems.
