研究実績の概要 |
This research employs a mixed methods research design to investigate the effectiveness of online journal clubs as a signature pedagogy for improving participants' educational research literacy. In the first year of the project, significant milestones were achieved. These included conducting a comprehensive literature review on educational research literacy and developing a functional event management system using Moodle, which can be accessed at https://researchic.com. Additionally, 15 online journal clubs (https://researchic.com/course/index.php?categoryid=23) were organized on ResearchIC.com, where global educational researchers shared their experience of reading educational research literature. The sharing sessions were recorded with videos and served as source data for an interview-based research, which investigates good practices of scientific reading among educational researchers.
The project also experimented with integrating ChatGPT on ResearchIC.com to explore the integration of cutting-edge technologies. As a result of this effort, one preprint was published on SSRN, which was listed on SSRN's Top Ten download list for #EduRN.
All of the aforementioned efforts resulted in the publication of four papers, one research poster, one keynote presentation, and one invited talk in five different international conferences. In addition, two international research collaborations with researchers from Japan, Austria, and China were initiated, with the aim of producing more research outputs in the coming year.

理由
The development and implementation of the platform were successful, and it is now available at https://researchic.com. The planned research activities were executed as intended, with a promising new focus on using AI tools to enhance the research reading process and training initiatives.
As part of efforts to foster a community of practice around research literacy, this project planned to organize 100 online journal clubs on https://researchic.com. I am delighted to report that 20 global educational researchers have already joined, and as of May 2023, a total of 15 online journal clubs have been launched on the platform. I look forward to welcoming more researchers to participate in these online journal clubs and engage in fruitful discussions about research literature.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
During the first year, this research project conducted 15 researcher interviews where participants recorded their own reading practices. However, it was discovered that this method was too demanding for the interviewees. Therefore, for the second year, the project will be conducting traditional one-on-one interviews to collect more in-depth data from educational researchers.
To make the platform of researchic.com more relevant to the research training needs in Japan, the project will be inviting Japanese researchers from universities in the country to organize online journal clubs on researchic.com.
Finally, the project will further explore the integration of AI tools into the research reading and writing processes.
