研究実績の概要 |
(1) The cyanobacteria dominated granule system was established using the mixture of NIES1726 and 1728 for nitrogen fixation, and the utilization of carbon and nitrogen species with or without N2 recirculation was examined. (2) The stability and performance of algal-bacterial granules were assessed by treating aquaculture water with almost no soluble N and organic C. (3) Six related high-quality articles were published with 15 reports (two keynote speeches)in international conferences during this fiscal year.

理由
Due to the fact that we have rich experiences and operated the mature algal-bacterial granule system for three years, we easily established the target new granule system dominated by cyanobacteria.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
(1) Compare the performance and stability of the cyanobacteria dominated granules and the common algal-bacterial granules under different operating conditions; (2) Identify the role of each component of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) in the maintenance of stable algal-bacterial granules; (3) Put forward the solutions for stable layered structure of algal-bacterial granules during the long-term treatment of low-strength wastewater; and (4) Further investigate the pathways of C and N inside the granules when only N2 and/or CO2 is supplied.
