研究実績の概要 |
Our research explores the intriguing connection between Acral Lentiginous Melanoma (ALM) and exposure to ethanol and acetaldehyde. Initial insights hint at acetaldehyde's potential to stimulate melanogenesis when derived from ethanol. We're meticulously examining gene expression profiles, focusing on key melanin-related molecules like MITF in melanocytes. Our ongoing investigation extends to adjacent keratinocytes, scrutinizing their quality and quantity alongside ethanol and acetaldehyde exposure to unravel intricate crosstalk dynamics. By refining melanin detection through co-culturing in ethanol/acetaldehyde environments, we aim to enhance our understanding of ALM pathology emphasizing acetaldehyde's role in prevention and management.
