Using the JWST programs GLASS and COSMOS-WEB, the morphological characteristics of high redshift galaxies were investigated, particularly the relationship between stellar mass, star-formation rate, and UV slope. Dr. Yang compared their properties as a function of redshift and wavelength. The galaxies are observed to have a wide diversity of morphologies, with many exhibiting structures different from those seen in lower-redshift galaxies. From these studies, the potential of JWST is being realized to unveil unprecedented details of galaxy formation even in the distant universe. Dr. Yang further completed a study of the sizes of bright cluster galaxies using the Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Survey. The results show remarkable consistency in their structure as a function of redshift.
