研究実績の概要 |
The objective of this research proposal is to investigate the wide range of energies (from keV to MeV) plasma and waves in the inner magnetosphere using observation from Arase satellite. Using the Arase satellite data for the classified magnetic storms driven by corotating interaction regions and Coronal mass ejections, we will investigate statistically the spatial and temporal plasma pressure distribution of ions and electrons. The knowledge of plasma pressure in the inner magnetosphere is important as it reflects the source, transport and loss of different ions and electrons population. In addition, we will also investigate the role of different wave-particle interactions in acceleration, transport, and loss of relativistic electrons in the Earth’s radiation belt. We will compare our observational results from Arase with magnetospheric simulations.

理由
We have classified the storms observed during Arase era based on their solar drivers. We are investigating plasma pressure over wide range of energies to understand the energetic particles in the inner magnetosphere.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
The magnetic storms driven by coronal mass ejections and corotating interaction regions will be classified using ACE and DSCVR satellite data. For these selected storms, Arase satellite data will be analysed for the plasma particles and wave-particle interactions. The result obtained will be reported and presented at domestic (Japan Geoscience Union (JpGU), Society of Geomagnetism and Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences (SGEPSS)) and international space science societies (American Geophysical Union (AGU), European Geosciences Union (EGU)). The results will be compiled as Academic research paper and will be published in reputed peer reviewed international journals.
