研究実績の概要 |
A method for evaluating the post-earthquake condition of steel frame structures based on the coupling coefficient (CC) has been developed. The CC is an index that reflects each story's internal force distribution and damage mechanism in frames, computed with the drift distribution at the maximum structural response estimated from limited monitoring data and the design drawings of the target structure. Preliminary finite element analyses showed that the CC contains some important information that is not obvious in displacement responses, such as the structure's global and local working modes. Useful information is whether the damage to each story is mainly distributed on the beams or columns. An incremental dynamic analysis with an 18-story steel frame tested at the E-Defense shaking table facility confirmed that the identified structure's condition by the CC-based method corresponds to the damage information reported by visual inspection.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
The original method assumed buildings with fixed column bases. In FY 2023, we modify the method for widely applications, including frames with semi-rigid column bases. The modified method assumes bending moment measurements at the first-story columns. The modified method will be verified against the experimental data on 4-story steel frame with weak-column-base-strong-column design, tested at the E-Defense shaking table facility in December 2022. Further, we verify the method by extensive FE analyses using the high-end computational environment and abundant seismic records.
