研究実績の概要

During the 2022 fiscal year, I published two manuscripts (one first-authored paper and one co-authored paper). Additionally, I conducted an independent meta-analysis which produced preliminary results that are highly relevant to the fields of plant-insect interactions and chemical ecology. These results were presented the Plant-Herbivore Gordon Research Conference in Ventura, California. The first experiment concerning the Crotalaria-Rhizobia-Utetheisa system was conducted on OIST’s campus, which should yield foundational data in the next coming weeks. In addition, a collaboration was established at the Gordon Research Conference with Dr. Po-An Lin from National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. Lastly, I mentored multiple interns and rotation students during the past fiscal year.

The research is progressing in a timely fashion.

今後の研究の推進方策

Samples from 2022 experiments are currently being processed for both HPLC and NMR analysis. Additional greenhouse experiments are planned for 2023, in both Okinawa and Taipei, Taiwan. Greenhouse experiments at OIST will be conducted from May-August 2023 while fieldwork/experiments in Taiwan will be conducted from August-October 2023. Meta-analysis work (both literature searches and data analysis) will continue through 2023, with expected manuscript submission by early 2024. Preliminary meta-analysis results will be presented at the East Asian Federation of Ecological Societies (EAFES) conference in July 2023 on Jeju Island. Results from greenhouse experiments and fieldwork will be presented at the International Congress of Entomology in 2024, which will take place in Kyoto.
