研究実績の概要 |
I obtained 102 ceramic samples from Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan, all of which have been subject to two lipid extraction methodologies, producing 200 extracts, with over half analysed by GC-MS. Data has been interpreted and shared with collaborators and plans have been established for further analysis in Japan and with international partners. This will fulfil the primary objective of this project. Calcite deposits were obtained from five ceramics, enabling proteomic analysis, which may allow greater interpretation and enhance the outcomes of this research. I have analysed additional GC-MS data from China (10), Russia (5), India (20), and Kazakhstan (72), and contributed to the interpretation, presentation, and publication of the material from Kazakhstan.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the proceeding year, I will undertake further analysis on lipid extracts derived from ceramic samples obtained from Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan, requiring additional laboratory preparation and the sharing of extracts with the University of York, UK. Calcite deposit samples will also be shared for specialist analysis at the UoY.
I intend to publish the results of this analysis and have submitted an abstract to the International Society for Biomolecular Archaeology, with the aim of presenting my research to experts leading in this field of study later this year. I also endeavour to present my results to broader archaeological audiences at the institutions of my collaborators, past colleagues at universities and heritage institutions in the UK, and heritage institutions within Japan.
