研究概要

鉄鉱石とコークスを高炉に挿入し、反応させることによって作られた溶鉄の中には炭素、硫黄、リンなどの多くの不純物や介在物が含まれており、これらを除去しないと製品にはならない。除去操作を精錬というが、このとき不純部や介在物と反応する物質を溶鉄浴内へ投入して攪拌しなければならない。溶鉄浴の温度は非常に高いので攪拌にはガス吹き込み攪拌が一般的に用いられている。精錬効率を上げるのはスラグ・メタル・ガス３相流動現象を明らかにして制御する必要がある。本研究では浴内へ吹き込まれたガスがスラグ表面から大気中へ放出されるまでの一連の挙動を、高速度カメラを用いた可視化実験と数値シミュレーションで明らかにした。
